I know for a fact that Cosmicdebris did not use any type of script, robot, spider or treefrog while he submitted, dugg content or actually accessed the site.

Here's what he had to say:

Here is my quick reply to digg's out of the blue e-mail. No warning, no nothing, just your Digg.com account has been permanently banned due to egregious violations of the Digg.com TOU related to script usage. Which is a trumped up piece of lying bullshit.

Maybe you'd care to check again.

I have never, nor would I ever think of, using any script.

I realize that I'm beating my head against an unmoveable object apropos having my account re-activated, but I will plead my case nonetheless.

I am a loyal long term user who has always adhered to your TOU. I have always used Firefox, my digging is as follows. I go to Friends' Activity Submissions, where I go to my last highlighted friends' submit. Whereupon I open a dozen or so tabs at a time. I read the description, digg what I like and open for perusal those that I find more interesting.

That's it in a nutshell. No scripts and nothing that breaches your TOU. How you can accuse me is both appalling, and offensive.

LdsAskMormon is a 50 something year old mormon grandmother

Here's what Digg has to say about it:

Digg: Update on Script Abuse
by Jen Burton at 8am, Oct 3rd, 2008 in Digg Community

Hey all –

Digg enforces its Terms of Use so that Digg remains a vibrant community of people committed to sharing and discovering great content. Everyone who uses Digg agrees to abide by the TOU, which maintains a positive experience on Digg for all community members by prohibiting spam, porn, gaming, hate speech etc.

In many cases, Digg gives users who violate the TOU a second and sometimes even a third chance. When people continue to violate the TOU, or where a first-time violation is egregious, Digg is reluctantly left with no option but to ban the user.

A couple weeks ago we posted a blog entry regarding script usage, reminding members of the community that it violates the Digg TOU. We also rolled out some changes that warned users when unnatural Digging activity was detected. Since this post, we analyzed our logs on a regular basis to clearly identify script use over an extended period of time.

While we never speak to specific instances of user bans to protect the privacy of individual users, we have banned a small number of users for script use over the past several weeks. Some of them are active users that are well known within the Digg Community. While we’ll sincerely miss the contributions of these individuals and are never happy about playing policeman, we believe that the larger Digg community is adversely impacted by people who choose to violate the TOU.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us at support@digg.com with questions or feedback. We’re continuously researching and investigating this process, so don’t be shy and let us know what you think.

Have a good one,
Jen

I gotta gree with DotLizard on this: Going around spending all your time fighting for an ideology.... on the internet... there has to be something better you can do with your time.

Why so serious ;)

Robert, Robert, Robert. you're so tense. relax. seriously. breathe.

now -- this is just a wild shot in the dark, but do you suppose you might have been banned because you ran around "attacking relentlessly" (even if "few or any" were "personal" attacks)? just a thought, dude. and on that subject, if you feel the need to devote all your energy to attacking ideas, maybe it's time to re-examine your perspective. it's an interesting world when you're not having to be all relentless all the time.

Maybe they should take a lesson from the stock exchange. They are even more vulnerable to a run on their site than any shares.

Have Digg the right to prevent me having access to MY intellectual input without natural justice of at least warning?

I've read their reply here. Good PR but no truth. I've never used scripts. I received no warnings, and no notification of any sort, They had not the common decency to rely on support@digg.com.

The Zionist only respond. They initiate nothing and never contribute any meaningful input. After the US election it will be a graveyard!

I would not know anything about scripts. I got NO warming of any type. I attacked Zionland relentlessly but few, if any personal attacks. The Zionists appeared to be able to summon help without using 'shouts'.
