I Was Banned From Digg and For a Pretty Lame Reason

I had linked directly to the pictures of the digg user on her site. However the site owner apparently redirected the site to a spam site after my initial post.

Here's the full text of the e-mail from Digg and my response:

Hello R.J.,

Thanks for contacting us at Digg.com. At this time, we are unable to remove the ban on your account.

Guys, hey I didn't know that a picture of a female digger was against the TOS. I didn't even know that she was selling something on the site. I've submitted over 3000 - 4000 articles and I've been on Digg since month 1. I definitely didn't try and promote a site to sell a product. I really have tried to be a good digger.

Is there anyway that you could reinstate my account?

Digg user Zaibatsu,

Your account has been banned for violating the Digg Terms of Service
(digg.com/tos) that you agreed to. From our TOS:

"By way of example, and not as a limitation, you agree not to use the
Services:

to submit stories or comments linking to affiliate programs, multi-
level marketing schemes, sites/blogs repurposing existing stories
(source hops), or off-topic content;

to advertise to, or solicit, any user to buy or sell any products or
services. It is also a violation of these rules to use any information
obtained from the Services in order to contact, advertise to, solicit,
or sell to any user without their prior explicit consent;

The offending submission(s) are provided below:

We want to make clear that the images submitted did not constitute the
ban, but the content of the domain itself, as it is spam and a
solicitation of products and/or services (http://www.jackiesjungle.com/want-a-piece-of-me
).

I hope you get reinstated, you've submitted and promoted a lot of great content that is both enjoyable and informative.

How stupid. Digg is seriously ticking off a lot of bloggers and it seems like there is a mass exodus to Reddit.com I think after reading the TOS that everyone using Digg should be banned as a user! Nearly every single site on the internet links to an affiliate sales program. What is the big deal? They need to seriously loosen up and have some respect for the bloggers that work hard to create content for the users of their site to read. I understand their crackdown on spam submissions, but this is over the top. Sorry for your troubles dear.

guess it's a permaban on Digg. But I'm back. Try and find me ... Beth from digg... It's a Colorado IP so it's easy. I was a good boy because of the TOS and well I'm a nice guy, but lets have some fun. Ex black Hat hacker, 4 years as the guy with the most intimate knowledge of the Digg Algo. and a ton of cash. Ooopps. Fire up the bots, proxies and spiders.

This crosses the line; weak reasoning, cold delivery and an utterly unjustified result.

Reg,

This is unfortunate. I hope they reconsider, it is a loss for Digg if they don't. I am sure hundreds of others agree.
